The Easter Exhibition has become a traditional event at Prem Castle and marks the castle’s seasonal opening. The opening of the exhibition, which takes place one day before the castle is opened for the new season, is livened up by singing and dancing. The celebration of Easter coincides with the arrival of spring and this popular time of year heralds the beginning of a new season and new life. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first spring full moon. There are many customs connected with the celebration of this greatest feast, which have been preserved. The exhibition presents some of these customs that are typical of the region of Ilirska Bistrica. In addition, visitors can also see various handmade products on the theme of Easter made by schools, kindergartens and societies from our municipality. The exhibitors have an abundance of ideas and manual skills and their work includes numerous artefacts made from paper and wood, crocheted and embroidered products, and flower arrangements. Exhibits also include Easter dishes and scratched eggs typical of the Brkini.
